Time Magazine: 5 Strategies to Protect Your Brain

June 7, 2021 - One thing that stood out to me in researching this article was the many ways you can combine strategies for brain health to save time and even maximize their effects. For example, exercising in sunlight. Exercise increases your BDNF and reduces brain inflammation, while sunlight regulates your circadian rhythm for higher quality sleep, thereby improving memory over time. Or cooking a Mediterranean meal (improves cardiovascular health, which seems to protect cognition) with friends (satisfying social networks are associated with better brain health, possibly by reducing cortisol levels). Someone commented on Twitter that implementing these strategies would make life boring. Suppose that's true if exciting to him means skipping exercise to eat sugary processed junk by himself.
